Kenzo opens Middle East flagship boutique in Dubai Mall
Rivoli Group, the region's renowned luxury retailer announced the official opening of the Middle East KENZO Flagship Boutique in Dubai Mall. Conceptualized by Antonio Marras, the Creative Director of KENZO and created by the Italian design and architecture office, Stefania Beltrame – Sandra Gelmetti, Architect Associates, this new store concept ushers the rebirth of the brand.“We have been representing Kenzo in this region since 1996 and are delighted to be a part this exciting new phase of growth in the Middle East. This flagship store is not only the largest of its kind outside of the historic Place des Victoires boutique in Paris it is also the only one in the region featuring Men, Women, Children and Home linen” said Adel Zarouni, Managing Director, Rivoli Group LLC.True to the KENZO spirit, the 450 square meters retail space embodies a harmonious as well as unique marriage of Eastern and Western cultures. Drawing inspiration from the Art Nouveau movement of the early 20th century, large imaginary flowers sculpted in volume by artisans like the moldings of Parisian interiors, adorn the walls and ceiling of the boutique. This is contrasted by elements from the East such as rich black lacquered armories, traditional Japanese tea-serving trays and folding screens – reinterpreted for a new purpose. The main color palette of the decor is black and white, allowing their neutrality to act as a canvas for the rich assortment of colours in the KENZO collection to fully express itself. There is also a strong sense of hospitality illustrated by the presence of benches, made from random layers of mattresses covered in a plethora of fabrics, cozy corners as well as a lavish VIP lounge and fitting room. Everywhere, the space offers a subtle point of balance in contrast, as the visitor is guided through from one discovery to the next surprise. This is not a shop, but a home in which shopping is a new experience, a source of pleasure at the heart of the KENZO world.In addition to the flagship boutique in Dubai Mall, the Rivoli KENZO network in Dubai includes a Men and Women boutique in Burjuman Mall and Dubai Festival City.
